SkyZen is controlled by IATA which is headquartered in Montreal (“IATA”, “we”, “us”, and/or “our”).
Please note that in providing SkyZen to you, IATA makes use of a third party to assist in developing and managing . the App. This third party service provider is (“the Developer”), and they assist us provide the App and to enable us to provide you with the feedback which you receive through the App. The Developer is our data processor who has been appointed under contract and whose operations are based .
1. What types of information does IATA collect and why?
1.1 By downloading the SkyZen App and connecting it with your Jawbone device, you have consented to our collection of certain data about you. SkyZen does not collect personally identifiable information about you. However, we will assign a unique identification number (“UIN”) to you when you download SkyZen and all data which is gathered about you through SkyZen will be associated with that UIN.
1.2 Despite not collecting personally identifiable information about you, because of the way in which we store your data (ie the use of the UIN), and because you may choose to provide further information to us which may enable us to identify you from the data which we hold, we have provided information below about what data we collect about you and why we are collecting this data.
1.3 When you download the SkyZen App, we may collected the following information about you:
1.3.1 the SkyZen Unique Identification Number;
1.3.2 your age;
1.3.3 your gender;
1.3.4 your country of residence;
1.3.5 Flight information including:

18.104.22.168 Departure and arrival terminals;
22.214.171.124 Time of flight;
126.96.36.199 Class of travel;
188.8.131.52 Name of airline;
1.3.6 from Jawbone, we receive the following data where you have connected SkyZen with your Jawbone device:
184.108.40.206 access tokenID (this is not your name, username or other similar personally identifiable information);
220.127.116.11 your sleep information; and
18.104.22.168 your movement information.
1.4 The above information allows us to provide you with insight into any upcoming flight plans, as well as to enable us to provide you with insight in relation to your lifestyle habits during any past flight travel.
1.5 If you contact us in relation to the App or the data which we collect and process through the App, we may need to collect further information from you in order to respond to your enquiry. As a result of your enquiry we may be able to identify you from the other data which we have collected through the SkyZen App.
2. How does IATA use your data?
2.1 We may use the data we have collected about you (subject to applicable law and/or your consent or in accordance with another other lawful reason where required under applicable law):
2.1.1 to provide you with insight into past flights which may enable you to improve your flight experiences in future flights;
2.1.2 to analyse the data on a higher statistical level in order to draw key insights into flight experiences so that we can feed these back to our members and the public;
2.1.3 respond and/or deal with any requests or enquiries from you;
2.1.4 to improve the functionality of the App;
2.1.5 to administer the App;
2.1.6 where necessary as part of any restructuring or sale of IATA which require the sale of assets;
2.1.7 for compliance with legal, regulatory and other good governance obligations; and/or
2.2 Subject to applicable law, we may also process your data for other legitimate business purposes including but not limited to ensuring our compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and IATA policies, and dealing with legal claims and related administrative activities and related records retention. We may also process it to establish or exercise our legal rights and to comply with law enforcement or other government agency requests or court orders
3. Does IATA share the data with third parties?
3.1 Your data will be made available for the purposes mentioned above (or as otherwise notified to you from time to time and where there is a lawful reason to do so, in compliance with applicable law), not only with IATA, but also by our Developer.
3.2 Your data may also be made available to third parties, such as IATA members who are interested in having a better understanding of their passengers’ flight experience, or with other IATA service providers who are under contract to IATA to proved support services (including auditors and/or compliance managers, IT hosting and/or IT maintenance providers and/or other similar services).
3.4 In addition, we may disclose your data to prospective or actual buyers in the event that IATA sells all or any of its business or assets
3.5 Please note, when you download the SkyZen App your data which is still held by Jawbone is still the responsibility of Jawbone as a separate data controller. IATA are not responsible for the processing of your data by Jawbone.
4. Will your data be transferred abroad?
4.1 All data processed through the SkyZen App, will be processed outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), given the nature of the IT service providers which IATA uses. As such, for those individuals who use the App within Europe, you should be aware that recipients of your data, whether may be located in countries or territories outside the EEA which may not have adequate data protection laws equivalent to those in the EEA. In those cases, where appropriate, steps will be taken to protect your rights and personal data as required by applicable law.
5. What safeguards are in place to protect your data?
5.1 IATA takes steps to seek to protect the security of your data in accordance with applicable law. The Developer and any other data processors acting on behalf of IATA will be required by IATA to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the data they process against any unauthorised access, alteration, transmission, public disclosure, deletion or destruction, as well as damage and accidental loss or deletion of the data.
6. What rights do you have to review, amend and/or delete data?
6.1 As mentioned above, the App does not result in IATA holding or processing personally identifiable about you. However, should you have any questions about how we process your data, please contact us at the following address:
6.2 If, following the provision of additional information by you, we are able to identify the data which specifically relates to you, and thus makes that data personally identifiable information, you may have the right to request copies of the information which constitutes your personally identifiable information. These rights may vary depending on the country you are based in, but it generally includes (amongst others) the right to:
6.2.1 request copies of, access, and, in certain circumstances under applicable laws,
6.2.2 oppose the processing of your personally identifiable information; and/or
6.2.3 request the deletion of your personally identifiable information held by IATA and/or to have certain inaccurate information about you corrected.
6.3 If you believe that any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or e-mail us as soon as possible. We will take steps to seek to correct or update any information as necessary and in accordance with applicable law and pursuant to our checks on whether that information is in need of correction or update.
6.4 All requests to amend, update, delete, access or to obtain copies of your personally identifiable information data will be processed in accordance with applicable law.

7. Keeping you informed and record retention
7.1 IATA may keep your details on record for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it may use your data, as set out above and as allowed in accordance with applicable law.
